I like to keep things simple. To feel my absolute best for competition, I always ensure I’m on the right track with my diet and training techniques and at the same time, start my day with foods I enjoy.

I create my “race plan” the day before every competition by outlining all the logistics for the day. This, of course, always starts with breakfast. I have a few options for my breakfast, but the goal is to always make something that gives me a ton of energy and is simple. What’s simpler than a smoothie?

Banana berry smoothie

  • 1/2 Banana
  • Frozen mixed berries
  • Greek yogurt
  • Orange juice

Peanut butter banana smoothie

  • 1/2 Banana
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/2 - 1 Cup almond milk
  • 1/2 Cup ice

High protein berry blend smoothie

  • 1 Cup frozen berries
  • 1/2 Cup milk or orange juice
  • Handful of spinach
  • 1 Scoop vanilla or berry protein powder

Growing up in Saskatchewan, we always had a garden, which was the source for a lot of my meals.. It’s way more comfortable knowing exactly where your food comes from. Considering I had such a healthy diet growing up, it’s never been difficult to keep up healthy eating habits. However, there’s always a cheat day and that’s always ice cream or anything with peanut butter and chocolate in it.
